Report SQL Server Account

Reporter uses the Report SQL Server account to access the database. The default password for the Report SQL Server account changed in PME 7.2.2.

If you do not update the factory default Report SQL Server account password and then synchronize each report to use the same password, the reports will not work.

To update the Report SQL Server account:

1. In SQL Server, change the factory default password for the Report SQL Server account.
2. Note the password value; each report will need to be updated with this password value.

   Note: If the Report account is used for other custom applications, the password needs to be updated in those applications as well.

To synchronize the reports to use the new Report SQL Server account password:

1. In Microsoft Excel, navigate to …\config\reports.
2. For each report in the folder:
   1. Open the file.
   2. Right-click the tab and click Unhide.
   3. Click |PRIVATE|Datasheets and then click OK.
   4. Scroll to the right of the file and update the PASSWORD value to match that of the Report SQL Server account.
   5. Verify that the server name (column Y) and the database instance name (column Z) are correct.
   6. Save and close the XML file.
